Since 2001, Symbol and it’s string of new owners have used manufacturing methods and materials to reduce failures resulting from temperature and humidity changes that their products go though in the course of expected usage. For the most part, when you are above -4 Fahrenheit and moving in and out of a freezer the issues come from condensation. The warmer and hotter the non-conditioned air is, the more likely you are to have pooling water in and around electronics in the scanner or crystallization when the unit is taken back into the cold.
– Ice crystals in your mobile terminal’s display can freeze causing display damage.
– Button latex and protective rubber gaskets can freeze and thaw and fail more rapidly.
– Many case parts are plastic and become brittle and are more likely broken when dropped.
– Battery life is shortened.
